Green Building Session | Bearys Polytechnic

As part of the induction programme, Bearys Polytechnic organized an informative session on “Green Building” on 29 June 2026, led by Dr. Purushothama C. T. for first-year diploma students. The session introduced students to the principles of sustainable construction and the importance of environmentally responsible building practices.

The resource person explained how green buildings promote efficient use of energy, water, natural lighting, and eco-friendly construction materials while creating healthier living environments. Students learned about key green building features, including rainwater harvesting, solar energy systems, waste management, energy-efficient lighting, and sustainable building materials.

The session also highlighted the environmental, economic, and social benefits of green buildings, such as reduced energy consumption, lower operating costs, improved indoor air quality, and conservation of natural resources. Through interactive discussions and real-life examples, students gained valuable insights into sustainable development and the role of engineers in building a greener future.
