Industrial visits play a vital role in bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world practices. They provide students with first-hand exposure to working methods, industrial operations, and employment practices, complementing the theoretical knowledge gained in college.

On 11th July 2024, the 3rd-year Mechanical Engineering students of Beary’s Institute of Technology Polytechnic, Mangalore, accompanied by faculty members Mr. Mohiuddin A. G and Mr. Dileep Kumar C, visited Gurucharan Industries, Bykampady, and Shakthi Industries, Mangalore. A total of 46 participants (44 students and 2 faculty members) took part in this enriching industrial visit.

During the visit, students gained valuable insights into industrial workshop practices, CNC machining operations, and their applications. They also observed processes such as metal surface treatment (nitriding) and studied the properties of HDPE plastic products, along with the practical application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) in engineering drawings.

This hands-on exposure not only enhanced their technical knowledge but also gave them a deeper understanding of how engineering concepts are applied in real-world scenarios.
