Workshop on "Exploring Microbit and Tinkercad"

BIT Polytechnic’s Computer Science Department conducted a workshop on Microbit and Tinkercad, offering students hands-on experience in programming, circuit simulation, and 3D design.

Conducted by: Department of Computer Science and Engineering, BIT Polytechnic, Mangalore.

The session commenced with a prayer led by Rachana DC, Thameeza, and Naseeha. The Master of Ceremonies was Ms. Shamla. The welcome speech was delivered by the Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Ms. Samreen. This was followed by an address from the Director of BIT Polytechnic, Mr. Pritvraj M. The guest speaker was introduced by Ms. Afrah, a faculty member at BIT Polytechnic.

The workshop was divided into two sessions: the morning session focused on Microbit, and the afternoon session on Tinkercad.

Morning Session: Microbit

1. Biography of Famous Personalities.

2. Basics of Programming.

3. Concepts in Programming.

4.Introduction to Microbit.

5. Basic Code in Microbit.

Afternoon Session: Tinkercad

1. Introduction to Tinkercad

2. Simulating Circuits

Projects covered:

- LED Blinking

- Printing in LCD

- Getting Data from Temperature Sensor

- Reading Distance Using Ultrasonic Sensor

3. 3D Design

- Designing 3D Objects

- Creating Files for 3D Printing

At the end of the workshop, Prof. Anjum Khan presented a token of appreciation to the guest. The vote of thanks was given by Mohammed Haashim.
